Responsibilities:
Event Planning and Coordination: Work closely with event organizers, clients, and stakeholders to understand their AV requirements and vision. Develop detailed AV plans and timelines for each event.
Technical Setup and Operation: Oversee the setup, operation, and dismantling of AV equipment, including sound systems, lighting, video displays, cameras, and streaming technology. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and meets the event’s technical specifications.
Team Management: Lead and manage the AV production team, including AV technicians, engineers, and other support staff. Provide training, guidance, and support to ensure a high level of performance and professional development.
Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to source additional equipment, services, or expertise as needed. Ensure timely delivery and setup of all AV components.
On-site Management: Supervise AV operations on-site during events, ensuring smooth execution and quick resolution of any technical issues. Act as the primary point of contact for AV-related concerns during the event.
Quality Control: Conduct pre-event tests and checks to ensure all AV equipment and systems are working correctly. Monitor AV performance during events to maintain high-quality standards.
Budget Management: Develop and manage AV budgets for events, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Track expenses and provide reports on budget performance.
Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the effectiveness of AV operations. Gather feedback from clients and team members to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
Innovation and Trends: Stay current with the latest AV technology, trends, and best practices in live event production. Recommend and implement new technologies and techniques to enhance the overall event experience.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure all AV operations comply with safety regulations and industry standards. Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect staff, attendees, and equipment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in audiovisual technology, event management, or a related field. Advanced technical certifications in AV production are a plus.
5+ years of experience in AV production for live events, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
Strong technical knowledge of AV systems, including audio, video, lighting, and streaming technology.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients, vendors, and team members.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in AV production software and tools (e.g., QLab, Pro Tools, Adobe Creative Suite).
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience in managing AV budgets and resources.
