Position Overview: As an AV Installation Technician, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and testing audiovisual systems according to project specifications and industry standards. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure the successful implementation of AV solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AV installation techniques, equipment, and technologies, along with strong technical skills and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
AV System Installation:
Install audiovisual equipment, including displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, amplifiers, control systems, and cabling, in accordance with project plans and specifications.
Mount and secure AV equipment to walls, ceilings, and other structures using appropriate hardware and mounting techniques.
System Configuration and Integration:
Configure and program AV control systems, signal processors, switchers, and other AV devices to meet project requirements.
Integrate AV systems with network infrastructure, video conferencing platforms, and other technology systems as needed.
Testing and Troubleshooting:
Conduct system testing and verification to ensure proper functionality and performance of AV systems.
Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions to resolve problems in a timely manner.
Documentation and Reporting:
Complete installation documentation, including as-built drawings, cable schedules, equipment lists, and test reports.
Provide regular progress updates and project status reports to project managers and clients.
Customer Service and Support:
Provide on-site support and training to clients during system commissioning and handover.
Respond to client inquiries, address customer concerns, and ensure a positive customer experience.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electronics, audiovisual technology, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in AV system installation and integration, including hands-on experience with AV equipment, tools, and techniques.
Familiarity with audiovisual standards, protocols, and best practices.
Strong technical skills and proficiency with AV control systems, signal processing equipment, and audiovisual software.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
