The AVP & Actuary, Life Assumption Governance will provide stewardship and oversight over actuarial assumptions, partnering with team across Corporate Finance, Enterprise Risk Management, Product/Pricing, Valuation, Modeling, and Experience Study teams.  You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of assumption governance, including development, implementation, documentation, review, communication, approval, and monitoring.

  • Oversight over actuarial experience studies; coordinate the assumption development process, review and challenge proposed assumptions, and support the approval process
  • Building, improving and maintaining assumption inventory
  • Oversight of promoting and coordinating clear, comprehensive and consistent assumption documentation
  • Partner and collaborate with other areas to develop a robust procedure to monitor inforce experience
  • Stays current on industry developments and drives toward solutions when appropriate.
  • Establish effective working relationships throughout the organization, both at the corporate level and within the businesses.

 

What we’re looking for

 

What we’re looking for

  • 10+ years of actuarial experience, with demonstrated competency in the specific responsibilities for this position
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation or Associate (ASA) with additional years of actuarial experience
  • Experience with individual life insurance products (Guaranteed UL, Variable UL, Indexed UL, Term and/or Hybrid LTC products)
  • Experience with actuarial assumption review and development or experience studies
  • Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to manage and develop a small team of actuarial students
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with others

The pay range for this position is $140,701 - $256,200 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
