ERG is seeking a full-time, experienced chemical or mechanical engineer to support a manufacturing area at a federal facility in Indian Head, Maryland. The qualified individual must be motivated and have the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a challenging environment.
This position will be full-time at the federal site in Indian Head, MD, and will include interaction and support from ERG personnel at the federal site, as well as from ERG’s Chantilly and Arlington offices. Indian Head is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA. Flexible work schedules may be considered.
Job Description:
Execute all engineering tasks related to material and end-item production support
Perform engineering calculations to support process design, including mass and energy balances, heat transfer, and pump sizing
Evaluate and optimize existing or planned equipment and processes for efficiency, modifications, and maintenance
Conduct market research and collaborate with client procurement teams to acquire necessary operational equipment
Draft, review, and revise technical documentation such as SOPs, equipment and facility drawings, and P&IDs.
Carry out engineering, safety, and quality control analyses
Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including quality testing and manufacturing departments
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: BS or MS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0
Experience: 0-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing. CAD/PAD experience is highly preferred
Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the initiative to engage with personnel and navigate solutions, even when initial problem statements are unclear
Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Detail-oriented, highly motivated, and capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks with limited supervision
Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and adapt quickly to changing priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Security Clearance: Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen, as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
$85,000 - $105,000 a year
