Fullscript is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Compliance to join our legal team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of compliance principles, knowledge of and an ability to apply risk management strategies and demonstrate a strong attention to detail. They will build foundational policies and guidelines for the company to adhere to in relation to compliance measures. As a leader within the team, they will influence and drive ownership across multiple stakeholder teams, working closely with marketing, data, security, IT and others.

What You'll Do:

    • Develop and deliver compliance and privacy training programs. Key areas include US/Canadian privacy and health care and laws and regulations. 
    • Manage and implement the privacy program, including Fullscript privacy policies and procedures. 
    • Working with the Fullscript IT Security team, oversee data privacy practices and policies to ensure patient information is protected. 
    • Identify potential risk areas and assist Fullscript with developing risk mitigation and/or corrective action plan strategies. 
    • Act as a consultative resource to Fullscript leaders on compliance and privacy matters and provide recommendations to enhance policies, procedures and internal controls as needed. 
    • Ensure that information is provided to Fullscript management to keep them current on the latest compliance program related risks and leading practices. 
    • Work collaboratively with Fullscript leaders to resolve all compliance issues identified. 
    • Collaborate with the Fullscript IT Security team to monitor safeguards and promote information security best practices. 
    • Participate in health care compliance and privacy professional organizations to stay abreast of corporate compliance and privacy developments and leading industry practices. 
    • Demonstrate high integrity and works effectively with other Fullscript leaders to facilitate open communication and operational excellence.

What you'll bring to the table:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as law, policy, finance, business management, or a related discipline.
    • Proven knowledge and understanding of privacy rules, including HIPAA.  Experience with Canadian privacy laws is a plus, but not required. 
    • Knowledge and experience with all general health care compliance and privacy regulations required. 
    • Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills. 
    • Strong leadership and ownership instincts, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 
    • Ability to prioritize and plan work, both for self and for others through influence and leadership.
    • Ability to interact with all levels of management.
    • Hands on approach and an appetite to build.
