Summary

Responsibilities

Review control systems drawings and job specifications for assigned projects.
Assist project managers in the selection and acquisition of materials and equipment required for jobs.
Coordinate design specifications with customers to optimize performance and reliability.
Identify and program PLCs for customers according to engineering specifications.
Troubleshoot PLCs, including overhead, input scan, logic execution, and output scan.
Develop and troubleshoot HMI programs in accordance with engineering specifications.
Develop and integrate SCADA systems and databases according to engineering and customer specifications.
Develop and integrate security protocols for SCADA systems.
Program and troubleshoot OITs for selected customers.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing of the control system.
Perform field testing, start up, and commissioning of the control system.

Requirements

5-10 years of progressively responsible experience in industrial process programming.
Experience programming PLCs from scratch and performing maintenance.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Degree is preferred but not required.
Experience with B&R, Rockwell/AB, GE, or Siemens is a plus.
Willingness to relocate to the area.
Willingness to travel occasionally.

Benefits

Seeking a highly motivated, Electrical Controls Engineer for a Manufacturing business that is very much in growth mode.

Duties

5-10 years of progressively responsible experience in industrial process programming, ideally with a mix of engineering and design/applications engineering with emphasis on designing control panels, control systems and actual programming experience.
Very high energy level, consistent with key leadership responsibility within a business that is very much in growth mode.
Review control systems drawings and job specifications for assigned projects.
Assist project managers in the selection and acquisition of materials and equipment required for jobs.
Coordinate design specifications with customers to optimize performance and reliability and provide training as required.
Identify and program PLC’s for customers in accordance with engineering specifications for designated projects.
Troubleshoot PLC’s including overhead, input scan, logic execution, and output scan.
Develop and troubleshoot HMI programs in accordance with engineering specifications for designated projects including trending, diagnostic data, management information, and mimic diagrams.
Develop and integrate SCADA systems and databases in accordance with engineering and customer specifications including RTU’s.
Develop and integrate security protocols for SCADA systems.
Program and troubleshoot OIT’s for selected customers in accordance with engineering specifications for designated projects.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing of the control system.
Perform field testing, start up, and commissioning of the control system.

Requirements

Experience programming PLC's from scratch and performing maintenance is required.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
