Summary

Responsibilities

  • Manage trades and technicians providing facilities support services
  • Oversee facility maintenance systems, including fire protection systems, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and transportation fleet programs
  • Respond to emergency maintenance support by providing direction to maintenance staff
  • Schedule and oversee field inspections and testing of maintenance systems
  • Perform quality assurance/quality control of maintenance activities
  • Advise and coordinate with facility personnel on maintenance status and planning
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to meet administrative requirements for maintenance support
  • Assure all work is completed/documented in accordance with regulations
  • Demonstrate project management skills and manage competing priorities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant supervisory experience
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience managing facilities repair work-orders and exterior maintenance projects
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local building and safety codes
  • Ability to lead technical personnel efficiently

ERG is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician Supervisor to oversee a maintenance staff of trades and technicians at a federal facility site in Indian Head, Maryland. Indian Head is the Navy’s leading facility for ordnance, energetics, and explosive ordnance disposal solutions. The qualified individual must be motivated with the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description:

    • Manage trades and technicians providing facilities support services in an energetic manufacturing environment
    • Oversee facility maintenance systems, including fire protection systems, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, grounding/bonding, and transportation fleet programs
    • Respond to emergency maintenance support by providing direction to maintenance staff necessary to respond to emergencies
    • Schedule and oversee field inspections and testing of maintenance systems
    • Perform quality assurance/quality control of maintenance activities
    • Advise and coordinate with facility personnel and leadership on maintenance status, follow-up actions, and recommendations for future planning and preventative maintenance strategies
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to meet administrative requirements for maintenance support
    • Assure that all work is completed/documented in accordance with applicable regulations and codes
    • Demonstrate project management skills associated with managing performance, mentoring staff, and managing schedules
    • Ability to manage multiple resources and competing priorities
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to give clear directions both verbal and written
    • Ability to make decisions in a high-paced environment
    • Highly skilled in customer service and diverse stakeholder engagement
    • Prior experience working at a DoD facility is a plus

Qualifications and Skills:

    • Minimum of 5 years relevant supervisory experience (ideally for five or more maintenance staff)
    • Have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
    • Related technical experience, such as working at manufacturing facilities
    • Experience managing facilities repair work-orders
    • Experience managing exterior maintenance projects
    • Knowledge of federal, state, and local building and safety codes
    • Demonstrate the ability to lead technical personnel efficiently
    • Prior experience with performing maintenance troubleshooting, repairs, inspection, and testing associated with facilities related systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, grounding/bonding)
