Position Summary: 

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Federal Health Writer/Editor to join our communications team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in writing and editing content for federal health and science organizations. This role involves creating clear, accurate, and engaging content that effectively communicates complex health and scientific information to various audiences. This is a 6 month contract to hire, Public Trust preferred.

Responsibilities:

    • Content Creation:
    • Write, edit, and proofread a variety of content, including reports, articles, press releases, newsletters, web content, and social media posts.
    • Develop clear and concise materials that accurately convey complex health and scientific information to both professional and general audiences.
    • Ensure all content adheres to organizational style guidelines and federal health communication standards.
    • Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct thorough research on health and science topics to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
    • Analyze and synthesize information from scientific studies, health reports, and policy documents to inform content development.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, research, and best practices in federal health and science communication.
    • Collaboration and Coordination:
    • Work closely with subject matter experts, including scientists, healthcare professionals, and policy makers, to gather and verify information.
    • Collaborate with graphic designers, web developers, and other team members to produce visually appealing and effective communication materials.
