Summary

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of the business model and local strategy to enable business growth through proactive partnership at all levels.
  • Serve as a consultant and counselor to local leaders and people managers, translating business needs into HR programs and leading in-country leadership enablement initiatives.
  • Create a talent focus that includes performance management, internal mobility, and learning and development, while providing coaching to align business objectives with people strategies.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of HR Generalist experience with a strong understanding of HR operations excellence.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in HR business partnering and coaching in a global matrix organization.
  • 5+ years of experience in the tech industry, preferably within software or IT solutions/consulting.
  • In-depth cultural understanding of Japan with up-to-date employment compliance knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills in Japanese and English, with the ability to build trust and influence.

The Role

Veeva Systems is seeking an Employee Success Business Partner who is experienced in driving HR operational excellence with a customer centric mindset, passionate about people and growth, and is business-oriented with exceptional business partnering skills.
 
The Employee Success Business Partner will be a people-oriented advisor and a trusted thought partner to the local leaders, enabling managers to identify, develop, and retain talent to build and sustain high performance at Veeva. This role will identify opportunities to lead projects that enable operational excellence that focus on driving employee success for our Japan team members based out of multiple locations.

What You'll Do

    • Develop a strong understanding of the business model and local strategy, and enable business growth by providing proactive partnership at all levels, utilizing insightful data on employee experience, ensuring an engaging work environment and high-performance culture where employees can be their best selves
    • Be a consultant and counselor to local leaders and people managers, develop trusted relationships through effective business partnering, translate business needs into HR programs, and lead in-country leadership enablement initiatives
    • Create talent focus, including performance management, internal mobility, and overall learning and development; provide thought partnership and coaching to enable managers to align their business objectives to talent profiles and people strategies
    • Identify enhancement opportunities for overall Japan Employee Success operations, drive process improvements, programs reviews/establishment, and change management to ensure the right support at scale
    • Provide expertise on employment compliance and employee relations matters; identify the root cause and design solutions with creative thinking - not with a ‘black and white’ one-fits-all mindset

Requirements

    • 7+ years of HR Generalist experience with an in-depth understanding of HR operations excellence throughout the employee life cycle and proven experience in process enhancement & change management
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in HR business partnering and coaching for high performance in a global matrix organization 
    • 5+ years’ tech industry experience – software, IT solutions/consulting company
    • Deep understanding of how to operate in Japan from a cultural perspective, with up-to-date employment compliance knowledge
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt, build trust, coach, and influence. Native Japanese speaker with business proficiency in English
    • Able to work with ambiguity, highly resourceful, and allows flexibility. Has the skills to create impactful business-oriented people solutions through creative thinking, data analysis, and navigating challenging conversations
