Summary

Responsibilities

  • Provide live interpretation during meetings and Zoom calls for overseas guests and internal teams.
  • Translate a wide range of documents from Japanese to English and vice versa, including blog posts, sales materials, and internal documentation.
  • Serve as the primary linguistic and cultural bridge for Japan operations, ensuring accurate and contextually appropriate translations.
  • Support the Country Manager with various office management tasks as required.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a glossary of terms and translation style guide to ensure consistency across all communications.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to stay updated on project requirements and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with external translation agencies or freelance translators when necessary to manage workload and ensure quality standards.
  • Localize Board and QBR deck preparation.
  • Contribute to a customer-centric culture by ensuring revenue operations positively impact customer satisfaction, retention, and acquisition through localizing necessary documents.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Japanese and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Bachelor’s in languages, marketing, finance, accounting, business or adjacent field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience in translation and interpretation, preferably within a corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of Japanese culture and business etiquette.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative thinker with a customer-first approach to problem solving.

The Voice of Japan Translator/Interpreter will play a critical role in bridging communication between our Japan operations and global teams. This individual will be responsible for live interpretation during meetings and calls, as well as translating a variety of documents, including blog posts, sales materials, and internal documentation. As a key lead in our Voice of Japan initiative, this role will be instrumental in ensuring clear and effective communication in one of our most important markets.

  • Excellent at digging through data and translating it into actionable/impactful insights and recommendations.
  • Desire to hear and understand Sales needs and determine paths forward, while balancing the adherence to guardrails needed by Legal and Finance.
  • Ability to handle stress with a positive, calm and data-driven approach, focused on company objectives.
  • Operate with honesty, integrity, transparency, enthusiasm, and respect for others.
  • Fluent in Japanese and English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in translation or interpretation.
  • Previous experience in office management or administrative support roles.
