Java/J2EE Software Engineer (Secret Clearance Required)

Job Summary: 

The Software Engineer with Java/J2EE experience is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and systems. This role requires strong technical skills in Java and J2EE technologies, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This is a 6 month contract to hire and requires an active Secret clearance or higher.

Responsibilities:

• Software Development:
• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software applications using Java and J2EE technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
• System Maintenance and Support:
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
• Perform regular maintenance and updates to existing applications.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.
• Project Management:
• Participate in project planning, estimation, and scheduling activities.
• Ensure that projects are completed on time and within scope.
• Communicate progress and issues to project stakeholders.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and release notes.
• Document software changes and enhancements in a clear and concise manner.
• Generate regular reports on project status and progress.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Continuously improve development processes and practices.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

$35 - $50 an hour
