Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the litigation calendar, including tracking deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements.
  • Accurately enter and update docketing information into the firm’s case management system.
  • Monitor and review incoming court orders, pleadings, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with deadlines.
  • Communicate with attorneys and legal staff regarding upcoming deadlines, scheduling conflicts, and case developments.
  • Prepare and file court documents electronically and physically as required.
  • Review and verify accuracy of court filings and deadlines, making necessary corrections or adjustments.
  • Assist with case file management, including organizing and retrieving case documents as needed.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and court personnel as necessary.
  • Generate and distribute docket reports and deadline reminders to relevant parties.
  • Provide support during trials and hearings, including preparation of exhibits and documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in legal studies or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a litigation docketing role within a law firm or legal department.
  • Proficiency in legal case management software (e.g., iManage, Clio, or similar systems).
  • Strong knowledge of court rules, deadlines, and legal procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
