Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care. Administer medications, treatments, and other procedures as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health status, including physical, psychological, and social aspects. Monitor vital signs, perform diagnostic tests, and interpret results.
Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, healthcare professionals, and support staff to develop and implement patient care plans. Ensure continuity of care and effective communication among the healthcare team.
Education and Support: Provide education to patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care. Offer emotional support and guidance to patients and families.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' rights and ensure their needs and preferences are respected. Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Infection Control: Follow infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infections. Educate patients and families on infection prevention practices.
Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes. Identify areas for improvement and contribute to the development of best practices.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies. Provide advanced life support and critical care as needed.
Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development and education to stay current with nursing practices and healthcare trends. Maintain required certifications and licenses.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [insert state].
2+ years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting.
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
