  • 1+ years of experience in specimen collection, handling, or a related role preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with safety and regulatory guidelines related to specimen handling.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift and move specimens and equipment as required.
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping.

The Specimen Field Technician will be responsible for the collection, handling, and transportation of biological specimens from various field locations. Responsibilities

    • Specimen Collection: Travel to designated locations to collect biological specimens such as blood, urine, saliva, or other samples as required. Ensure proper labeling and documentation of specimens.
    • Handling and Storage: Handle specimens according to established protocols to ensure integrity and prevent contamination. Store specimens in appropriate containers and conditions for transportation.
    • Transportation: Safely transport specimens from collection sites to laboratories or other designated facilities. Ensure timely delivery to maintain specimen viability.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all collected specimens, including time of collection, location, and any observations. Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory and company standards.
    • Compliance: Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines, including OSHA and HIPAA requirements. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and follow proper sanitation procedures.
    • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all collection and transportation equipment is properly maintained and sanitized. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the supervisor.
