SQL Database Administrator (Remote EST)

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our SQL databases. The role primarily focuses on troubleshooting, performance tuning, and server upgrades. Responsibilities:

• Database Administration:
• Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring their availability, performance, and security.
• Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and integrity checks.
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify potential issues.
• Troubleshooting:
• Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Analyze and solve complex problems, providing timely and efficient solutions.
• Collaborate with application developers to identify and resolve database performance issues.
• Performance Tuning:
• Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexes to improve database performance.
• Implement best practices for database performance tuning and optimization.
• Monitor and analyze database performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
• Server Upgrades:
• Plan, coordinate, and execute SQL Server upgrades and migrations.
• Ensure compatibility and performance of new server environments.
• Develop and maintain documentation for server configurations and upgrade processes.
• Security and Compliance:
• Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards.
• Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Generate and analyze reports on database performance, security, and usage.
• Collaboration and Support:
• Work closely with other IT team members to ensure seamless integration of database systems.
• Provide support and guidance to junior database administrators and other IT staff.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed.
