SQL DBA (Top Secret Clearance Required)- Mostly Remote

We are seeking an experienced SQL DBA with a strong background in SQL Data Analysis and Database Administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our SQL database systems to ensure their performance, availability, and security. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, proficiency in SQL, and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment. This position is onsite 4-6 days per month and requires an active Top Secret clearance or higher (Interim TS can be accepted)

Responsibilities:

• Database Management:
• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases.
• Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
• Manage database security, including creating and maintaining user roles and permissions.
• Performance Tuning and Optimization:
• Analyze and optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and other tuning techniques.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Backup and Recovery:
• Develop, implement, and manage database backup and recovery strategies.
• Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity and availability.
• Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Utilize SQL for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Create and manage complex queries, stored procedures, and views for data analysis and reporting purposes.
• Generate reports and dashboards to support business decision-making.
• Database Design and Development:
• Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to design and implement database solutions.
• Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and other database objects.
• Ensure database designs are scalable, reliable, and meet business requirements.
• Maintenance and Support:
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support for SQL Server databases.
• Implement and enforce database standards, guidelines, and best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed.
• Documentation and Training:
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Provide training and support to other team members on database-related issues and best practices.
