Sr. Power Electronics Engineer (Navy Experience)

Summary

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced power electronics systems for naval applications, including power converters, inverters, rectifiers, and energy storage systems.
• Perform detailed analysis and simulation of power systems to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and reliability.
• Develop and implement control algorithms for power electronics systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate power electronics systems into larger naval platforms and systems.
• Conduct testing and validation of power electronics components and systems to meet military standards and specifications.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in power electronics and related technologies.
• Ensure compliance with Navy project requirements, including MIL-STD-1399, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-810.
• Participate in design reviews, project planning, and risk assessments.

Requirements

• Strong background in power systems and power electronics.
• Experience working on Navy projects or contracts.
• Deep understanding of power conversion, energy storage, and distribution systems.
• Familiarity with military standards and regulations.
• Ability to provide technical support and mentor junior engineers.
