Technical Writer - Top Secret Clearance (Hybrid Remote)

Summary

Responsibilities

• Produce clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation, including user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
• Collaborate closely with cybersecurity engineers and subject matter experts to translate technical concepts into user-friendly documentation.
• Conduct thorough research and gather technical information to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in developing and maintaining cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards documentation.
• Review and edit documentation for clarity, consistency, and adherence to standards.
• Support proposal development with well-written content highlighting cybersecurity capabilities.
• Maintain documentation version control and manage updates in response to system changes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to cybersecurity documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Top Secret clearance is required.
• Security+ certification (or equivalent) is mandatory.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a technical writer, with specific experience in cybersecurity documentation.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and terminology.
• Proficiency with documentation tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Visio).
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits

• Salary range of $115,000 - $125,000 per year.
• Remote work flexibility (2-3 days per week).
