Position Overview:

The Training Specialist III with Naval experience will play a key role in designing, developing, delivering, and managing technical training programs. This role requires broad-based performance in all aspects of training development, with a focus on creating effective and engaging instructional content for personnel with naval backgrounds. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of naval operations and procedures, combined with expertise in technical training methodologies. This is a 6 month contract to hire that is fully remote, active Secret clearance or higher is required.

Responsibilities:

    • Training Design and Development:
    • Lead the design and development of technical training programs aligned with naval standards and operations.
    • Utilize Instructional Systems Design (ISD) principles to create curriculum and training materials, including lesson plans, technical manuals, job aids, and online learning modules.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure accuracy and relevancy of technical content.
    • Conduct needs analysis to determine training gaps and recommend solutions.
    • Training Delivery:
    • Facilitate training sessions, including classroom instruction, e-learning modules, and on-the-job training, ensuring comprehension of complex technical concepts.
    • Deliver high-quality instruction to personnel at various levels, including senior leadership and technical staff.
    • Use advanced instructional techniques such as simulations, workshops, and interactive learning to enhance engagement and retention.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
    • Training Management:
    • Oversee the full lifecycle of training programs, including scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation.
    • Maintain and manage a comprehensive training database, tracking course completions, certifications, and training compliance.
    • Stay up to date on naval policies, regulations, and technical standards to ensure the training content remains current.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including operations, HR, and external vendors, to align training initiatives with organizational goals.
    • Evaluation and Reporting:
    • Implement assessment tools to measure learner performance and training effectiveness.
    • Develop detailed training reports and present findings to stakeholders, recommending changes and improvements as necessary.
    • Ensure compliance with training standards and regulations, including those specific to naval environments.
    • Continuous Improvement:
    • Research and integrate new training technologies and methodologies to enhance the learning experience.
    • Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field of training and naval operations.
    • Lead training audits and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational and naval standards.
