Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead AV Installation Technician to oversee the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of advanced audio-visual systems for commercial and residential projects. As a Lead Technician, you will manage installation teams, provide technical expertise, and ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards. This position requires extensive AV knowledge, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering superior customer service. This position is 75% national travel and 25% off work (Travel is typically Sunday-Thursday/Friday and includes per diem plus travel expenses paid for). Active Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities:

    • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of AV installation technicians, providing technical guidance and ensuring high-quality workmanship.
    • Oversee the installation, integration, and programming of complex AV systems, including video walls, projectors, displays, sound systems, control systems, and AV over IP solutions.
    • Interpret and review AV system designs, blueprints, and technical schematics to ensure proper implementation and installation accuracy.
    • Manage the entire project lifecycle, including planning, execution, testing, troubleshooting, and final commissioning of AV systems.
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to assess site requirements, recommend AV solutions, and establish installation timelines.
    • Program and configure AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX, Extron) and other integrated technologies.
    • Perform cable management, including running, terminating, and testing of Cat5e/6, fiber optics, HDMI, and other cabling systems.
    • Conduct quality assurance tests to verify that all systems are functioning properly and meet project specifications.
    • Resolve complex technical issues in real-time, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
    • Train and educate end users on the proper operation of installed AV systems.
    • Maintain project documentation, including reports, service logs, and installation manuals.
    • Ensure that all safety protocols and standards are followed on job sites.
    • Manage inventory, tools, and equipment for the team, ensuring all resources are available and well-maintained.
