Utilities Designator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Utilities Designator to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to accurately mark existing utilities in the field to identify their approximate horizontal locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of utility systems and experience in utility locating techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Field Marking:
• Locate and mark the horizontal location of existing utilities using appropriate tools and methods.
• Use utility maps, plans, and electronic locating equipment to identify utilities.
• Ensure markings are clear, accurate, and comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Documentation:
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all field markings and locates.
• Document utility locations and provide reports as required.
• Update and maintain utility maps and databases.
• Safety Compliance:
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure personal and public safety.
• Identify and report any potential safety hazards encountered during fieldwork.
• Participate in safety training and meetings.
• Communication:
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other team members regarding utility locations.
• Communicate effectively with property owners, contractors, and utility representatives.
• Respond to locate requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Equipment Maintenance:
• Properly maintain and calibrate locating equipment and tools.
• Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and report any issues to the supervisor.

$25 - $35 an hour
