Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Utilities Technician to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist with air vacuum excavation test holes to physically locate utilities and obtain their survey location and depth. The ideal candidate will have experience in utility excavation and a strong understanding of utility systems.

Responsibilities:

    • Utility Excavation:
    • Assist in performing air vacuum excavation to expose underground utilities.
    • Safely operate air vacuum excavation equipment and tools.
    • Ensure proper handling and disposal of excavated materials.
    • Utility Identification:
    • Physically locate utilities and verify their positions using appropriate techniques.
    • Obtain accurate measurements of utility depth and survey locations.
    • Mark and document utility locations clearly and accurately.
    • Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure personal and public safety.
    • Identify and report any potential safety hazards encountered during fieldwork.
    • Participate in safety training and meetings.
    • Documentation:
    • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all excavation activities and utility locations.
    • Provide necessary documentation and reports to supervisors and project managers.
    • Update utility maps and databases with new information.
    • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Properly maintain and calibrate excavation equipment and tools.
    • Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and report any issues to the supervisor.
    • Communication:
    • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other team members regarding utility locations.
    • Communicate effectively with property owners, contractors, and utility representatives.
