Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and customer requirements.
Inspections and Testing: Conduct detailed inspections and tests on aerospace components and systems to identify defects and ensure they meet quality standards. Use various measuring and testing equipment to assess product quality.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and audits. Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and analyze quality issues to determine root causes. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address these issues and prevent recurrence.
Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of purchased components and materials. Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance product quality and efficiency. Lead quality improvement projects and initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products and processes comply with relevant aerospace industry standards, such as AS9100, and regulatory requirements from agencies like the FAA and EASA.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to production and engineering teams on quality standards, processes, and best practices. Promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Customer Interaction: Interface with customers to address quality concerns and provide technical support. Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving quality issues promptly and effectively.
Reporting: Prepare and present quality reports and metrics to management. Use data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry.
Strong knowledge of aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS9100, FAA, EASA).
Proficiency in quality inspection and testing techniques, including the use of measuring and testing equipment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency with quality management software and tools.
Certification in quality engineering (e.g., CQE) is a plus.
$70,000 - $100,000 a year
