Applications Engineer

Summary

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and execute new technologies into commercial processes.
• Serve as an interface between customers’ engineering staff and internal technical staff.
• Qualify new technologies for inclusion in customer material specifications and Web’s PCDs.
• Support improvements of existing processes by coordinating technical details.
• Meet with customers to understand and document product requirements and performance characteristics.
• Plan, coordinate, and document trials.
• Develop manufacturing methods and coordinate the design and qualification of process lines.
• Create product specifications, quality plans, test methods, and other documentation for manufacturing.

Requirements

• B.S. in an Engineering related field.
• 5-10 years in process/quality/development engineering.
• Experience with flexible materials processing (extruding, coating, printing, laminating).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Skill with Quality, Lean, and Six-Sigma methodologies such as FMEA, DOE, SPC, etc.
