Automation Design Engineers also make recommendations for productivity improvements and cost reductions to increase customer satisfaction and job profitability.</p><br><p><strong>As an Automation Design Engineer you will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Understand project requirements and design building automation solutions for higher education and K–12 education facilities, data centers, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, high-rise buildings, and lab facilities.</li> <li>Prepare design documents, including mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bills of materials, sequences of operations, valve and damper schedules, and DDC panel layouts.</li> <li>Design building automation network architecture to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third-party integration devices connected through Modbus, Siemens APOGEE, or BACnet.</li> <li>Analyze plans, construction contract specifications, and codes to determine project requirements and risks.</li> <li>Design building and space pressurization solutions, chiller and boiler plant sequencing control, etc.</li> <li>Prepare engineering re-estimates and follow up with appropriate sales and management to ensure understanding of and satisfaction with job scope.</li> <li>Perform quality assurance; peer-review engineering documents.</li> </ul> &nbsp; <p><strong>You will make an impact with these qualifications:</strong></p> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or state-recognized GED</li> <li>Experience in building automation (HVAC controls) design</li><ul><li>Mid-Level: 3+ years</li><li>Senior Level: 5+ years</li></ul> <li>Ability to travel up to 10%</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to design large and complex jobs with some deviation using standard tools, products, and practices</li> <li>Demonstrated knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operations</li> <li>Demonstrated proficiency in engineering design software or drafting tools such as AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio&nbsp;</li> <li>Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship</li> </ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li><span data-contrast="none"><span data-ccp-char="" data-ccp-charstyle-defn="{&quot;ObjectId&quot;:&quot;e44d564b-6658-4d03-a75d-e813295c1186|159&quot;,&quot;ClassId&quot;:1073872969,&quot;Properties&quot;:[469775450,&quot;normaltextrun&quot;,201340122,&quot;1&quot;,134233614,&quot;true&quot;,469778129,&quot;normaltextrun&quot;,335572020,&quot;1&quot;,469778324,&quot;Default Paragraph Font&quot;]}">Associate or Bachelor’s</span><span data-ccp-char="">&nbsp;Degree</span></span></li> <li>7+ years of building automation (HVAC controls) design experience</li> </ul><div><br></div> <p><strong>You’ll benefit from:&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to our employees.
