The Buyer, Energy Systems will be responsible for managing the procurement of energy systems and related components. This role involves identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products that meet our technical and budgetary requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of energy systems, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

    • Supplier Management: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of energy systems and components. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure favorable terms and reliable supply chains.
    • Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies for energy systems that align with the company's goals and operational needs. Monitor market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
    • Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with suppliers to achieve the best possible value. Ensure all contracts are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
    • Order Management: Oversee the procurement process from order placement to delivery. Track orders to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment. Address any issues or delays promptly.
    • Quality Assurance: Work closely with the engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure that purchased energy systems and components meet required specifications and standards.
    • Budget Management: Monitor and manage procurement budgets for energy systems. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce expenses without compromising quality.
    • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including supplier information, contracts, and purchase orders. Prepare regular reports on procurement performance and market conditions.
    • Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to supply chain disruptions, price volatility, and supplier performance. Develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP, CPSM) are a plus.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience with energy systems and components is highly desirable.
    • Previous Govcon expereince is highly preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of energy systems and procurement best practices.
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Familiarity with ERP Systems.
    • Ability to analyze market trends and supplier performance.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
    • Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
    • High level of integrity and professionalism.
