LOCATION: Apply Digital is hybrid/remote friendly. The preferred candidate should be based in the Greater Toronto Area of Canada, working in hours that align to ET (Eastern Timezone).

THE ROLE:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including financial planning and analysis, strategic financial decision-making, and risk management. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial leadership within the consulting and technology sectors, a deep understanding of digital transformation, and a proven track record of driving financial performance in high-growth environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Strategy and Planning:

Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s long-term goals.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
Oversee M&A-related initiatives.

Financial Management:

Ensure robust financial management systems and controls are in place.
Manage the company’s financial performance, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow management.
Oversee accounting, tax, and financial reporting functions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Business Partnering:

Partner with business units to drive financial performance and achieve growth targets.
Support project teams with financial insights and analysis to enhance decision-making.
Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop pricing strategies and optimize revenue models.

Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate financial risks, including market, operational, and credit risks.
Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
Ensure the company’s assets are safeguarded through appropriate insurance and risk mitigation strategies.

Investor Relations:

Manage relationships with investors, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
Prepare and present financial reports to the board of directors and investors.
Lead fundraising efforts, including equity and debt financing, to support growth initiatives.

Digital Transformation:

Drive the adoption of digital tools and technologies to enhance financial processes and reporting.
Leverage data analytics to improve financial decision-making and business insights.
Ensure the finance function is equipped to support the company’s digital transformation initiatives.
Support our growth organization in building business cases for transformation for our clients.

Team Leadership:

Build and lead a high-performing finance team.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the finance department.
Mentor and develop finance staff to ensure succession planning and talent retention.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
Proven experience as a CFO or senior financial executive within a consulting, technology, or digital transformation company.
Strong understanding of financial management principles and regulatory frameworks.
Experience in driving financial performance in high-growth environments. Ability to partner with the growth, delivery and enablement teams to drive performance.
Expertise in digital transformation and the application of technology in finance.
Experience in mergers and acquisitions, with a record of successful integrations.
Previous experience and knowledge of NetSuite.
Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
An entrepreneurial thinker and a solution-focused problem solver.
Ideally situated in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and able to travel as required.
