Responsibilities

Gathers and maintains database along with analyzing company's operational cost.
Establishes standard costs of production.
Determines and segments fixed and variable costs.
Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual cost forecasts.
Develops and analyzes cost standards to identify inaccuracies and explain variances.
Carries out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis.
Establishes costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
Performs account reconciliations.
Prepares audit reports and presents findings to management.
Recommends changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profit.
Advises executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
2+ years of related experience as a Cost Accountant, working in job costing analysis.
2+ years experience with month-end procedures and cut-offs.
In-depth understanding of GAAP.
Working knowledge and experience with Sage 100 or similar system, ERP background.
