Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Data Visualization Engineer to transform complex datasets into visually compelling, easy-to-understand dashboards and reports. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analysis, proficiency in data visualization tools, and a deep understanding of how to present data in ways that support decision-making. The Data Visualization Engineer will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver insights that drive organizational success.
Responsibilities:
Data Visualization Development:
Design and create interactive data visualizations, dashboards, and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI,
D3.js, or similar platforms.
Ensure that visualizations are intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, and effectively communicate key insights.
Customize visualizations to align with specific business requirements and user needs.
Data Analysis & Transformation:
Work closely with data scientists and analysts to understand data sources, structure, and reporting needs.
Extract, clean, and manipulate data from various databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, cloud platforms) to prepare it for visualization.
Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure that visualizations meet their needs.
Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, tailoring communication to their level of expertise.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment with business goals.
Dashboard Optimization & Maintenance:
Optimize dashboards for performance, ensuring that they load quickly and efficiently, even with large datasets.
Continuously update and maintain dashboards and reports, incorporating new data or changing requirements as needed.
Ensure data security and compliance in visualization tools by following best practices.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data visualization, including new tools, techniques, and design principles.
Suggest and implement improvements to data visualization processes, workflows, and tools to enhance efficiency and quality.
Provide training or guidance to team members on best practices for data visualization.
Data Governance & Quality Assurance:
Ensure that visualizations adhere to data governance policies, including data accuracy, privacy, and security.
Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure data integrity and the validity of visualizations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in data visualization, data analysis, or a similar role.
Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI,
D3.js, or equivalent platforms.
Strong SQL skills and experience with database management and query optimization.
Understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and working with large datasets.
Ability to tell a compelling story with data, including excellent attention to detail in visual design.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis and automation is a plus.
