Position Summary: 

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for managing the company’s security clearance programs, ensuring compliance with all applicable government regulations, and safeguarding classified information. The FSO will oversee all aspects of security clearances, including processing, maintaining, and terminating clearances for employees. This role requires a thorough understanding of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing security programs within a government contracting environment and will serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related matters. TS/SCI required.

Responsibilities:

    • Security Clearance Management:
    • Oversee the processing, maintaining, and termination of personnel security clearances, ensuring compliance with all federal regulations and company policies.
    • Manage the electronic submission of clearance applications and periodic reinvestigations through the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and the Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP) system.
    • Maintain accurate records of all cleared employees, including status updates and any changes in clearance levels.
    • Compliance & Auditing:
    • Ensure the company’s adherence to the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other relevant security regulations.
    • Conduct self-inspections and audits to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
    • Prepare for and coordinate government security inspections and audits, responding to any findings or recommendations.
    • Security Education & Training:
    • Develop and implement security education and awareness programs for all employees, including initial briefings, annual refresher training, and debriefings.
    • Provide training on security protocols, safeguarding classified information, and recognizing security threats.
    • Keep abreast of changes in security regulations and update training materials accordingly.
    • Incident Reporting & Investigations:
    • Report security incidents, violations, and suspicious activities to the appropriate government agencies and internal stakeholders.
    • Conduct investigations into security incidents and recommend corrective actions.
    • Coordinate with government agencies on any security-related matters, including adverse information reports, loss of classified information, and suspicious contacts.
    • Visitor Control & Physical Security:
    • Manage the visitor control process, including the verification and clearance of visitors to secured areas.
    • Oversee the physical security of the company’s facilities, ensuring that all areas are properly safeguarded against unauthorized access.
    • Implement and maintain access control systems, security alarms, and surveillance systems.
    • Personnel Security:
    • Conduct background checks and screenings for new hires and employees requiring security clearances.
    • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding security clearance applications and the maintenance of their clearances.
    • Monitor employees for any changes in personal circumstances that may affect their security clearance status.
    • Policy Development & Implementation:
    • Develop and update company security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations and industry best practices.
    • Communicate and enforce security policies across the organization, ensuring that all employees understand and adhere to security protocols.
