Federal Audit Manager (Remote EST or CST)

The Federal Audit Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing audit engagements, particularly those related to government contracts and compliance. This role ensures that all auditing activities adhere to federal regulations, government contracting standards, and organizational policies. The Federal Audit Manager will lead a team of auditors and work closely with various departments to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and compliance with applicable laws. This is fully remote (EST or CST candidates only) and requires an active CPA.

Responsibilities:

• Audit Planning and Management:
• Develop and implement audit plans for government contracting engagements.
• Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with federal regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and other applicable guidelines.
• Oversee the entire audit process, from planning to execution and reporting.
• Team Leadership:
• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of auditors, providing guidance and support.
• Assign audit tasks and manage team workload to ensure timely completion of audit projects.
• Conduct performance evaluations and identify professional development opportunities for team members.
• Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure compliance with all relevant federal regulations and government contracting standards.
• Identify and assess areas of risk in the organization’s operations and financial reporting.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
• Financial Reporting:
• Review and analyze financial statements and reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure all financial documentation meets federal standards and is prepared for audit purposes.
• Collaborate with finance and accounting departments to address any discrepancies or issues.
• Stakeholder Communication:
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare and present detailed audit reports, highlighting key findings and suggested improvements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulatory agencies.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated on changes in federal regulations and government contracting standards.
• Develop and implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance the audit process.
• Participate in professional development and continuous learning opportunities.
