Position Summary: 

We are seeking a talented and creative Federal Health/Science Graphic Designer to join our communications team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing visual content for federal health and science organizations. This role involves creating visually appealing and informative graphics that effectively communicate complex health and scientific information to diverse audiences. This is a 6 month contract to hire, Public Trust preferred.

Responsibilities:

    • Graphic Design and Development:
    • Create high-quality graphics, illustrations, infographics, and other visual materials to support health and science communication efforts.
    • Design engaging and informative visual content for a variety of platforms, including print, web, social media, and presentations.
    • Ensure all designs adhere to organizational branding guidelines and federal health communication standards.
    • Content Creation and Management:
    • Collaborate with content creators, writers, and subject matter experts to develop visual materials that complement and enhance written content.
    • Produce graphics that effectively convey complex health and scientific concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
    • Manage the organization’s visual content library, ensuring all assets are properly cataloged and easily accessible.
    • Multimedia and Digital Design:
    • Develop multimedia content, including animations, videos, and interactive graphics, to support health and science communication campaigns.
    • Utilize design software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to produce digital content that meets the needs of various platforms and audiences.
    • Ensure all digital content is optimized for web and mobile viewing.
    • Project Management:
    • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
    • Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones, and track progress against these plans.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure project goals are met.
    • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with the communications team, program staff, and external partners to understand project requirements and deliver effective visual solutions.
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to support communication strategies.
    • Provide design support for internal and external events, including conferences, webinars, and public forums.
    • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure all visual materials comply with federal health and science guidelines and standards.
    • Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and visual appeal of all design work.
    • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in graphic design and health communication.
