Highway Project Engineer (Hybrid)

Position Summary: 

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Highway Project Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of highway and roadway projects. This role requires a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Hybrid flexibility available after initial period, PE is required.

Responsibilities:

• Project Planning and Design:
• Develop detailed engineering designs for highway and roadway projects, including layout, grading, drainage, and pavement design.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and environmental impact assessments.
• Prepare engineering reports, cost estimates, and project schedules.
• Project Management:
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met within budget and on schedule.
• Monitor and track project progress, addressing any issues or delays that arise.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
• Construction Oversight:
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, including reviewing construction plans, shop drawings, and submittals.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure construction activities comply with design specifications and quality standards.
• Address any design-related issues that arise during construction and provide solutions.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Liaise with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
• Communicate project status, updates, and any changes to all relevant parties.
• Prepare and present project proposals and progress reports to clients and management.

$40 - $50 an hour
