Responsibilities:
Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets. Define project deliverables and milestones.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. Use lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Design and Development: Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products. Ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards.
Project Execution: Coordinate and oversee all aspects of project execution, including procurement, production, testing, and delivery. Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet project goals.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and outcomes. Address any issues that arise promptly and effectively.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with industry standards and regulations. Implement quality control measures and conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and technical specifications. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to team members.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, production, and quality assurance, to achieve project objectives. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and components. Evaluate vendor performance and maintain strong relationships.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to production teams on new processes, equipment, and tools. Develop training materials and conduct training sessions as needed.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with advancements in manufacturing technologies and best practices. Continuously seek opportunities for process optimization and innovation.
Reporting: Prepare and present regular project status reports to management and stakeholders. Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
3+ years of experience in manufacturing project engineering or a related role.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality standards.
Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Asana).
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus.
Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) is preferred.
