Position Overview: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Cost Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working on large-scale government contracts, with expertise in cost contracts, pricing strategies, and financial analysis. This role requires a deep understanding of cost estimating, budgeting, and forecasting within government contracting environments, along with the ability to communicate complex financial information to both internal and external stakeholders. This position is remote but requires candidates to live in East Coast region.

Responsibilities:

    • Lead cost analysis and financial modeling for large-scale government contracts, including cost-plus, fixed-price, and time-and-materials contracts.
    • Develop and maintain cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for ongoing and future government projects.
    • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support contract negotiations, bid proposals, and program cost assessments.
    • Collaborate with program managers, procurement teams, and senior leadership to ensure accurate cost reporting and compliance with government regulations (FAR/DFAR).
    • Provide strategic recommendations based on cost analysis and financial data to improve project profitability and efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations related to cost accounting standards (CAS), financial reporting, and auditing requirements.
    • Review and analyze direct and indirect costs, overhead rates, and material costs to ensure they align with contract requirements.
    • Prepare detailed financial reports, variance analyses, and presentations for internal and government stakeholders.
    • Support contract audits and work closely with external auditors to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to contract costs.
    • Mentor and train junior cost analysts, providing guidance on financial analysis, cost modeling, and government contract regulations.
