The Opportunity:

We are seeking a talented Procurement Lead. The Procurement Lead is responsible for performing primarily indirect strategic sourcing and negotiation activities for vendor spend that spans multiple categories and/or lines of business under the direction of the Procurement Manager. The Procurement Lead builds strong relationships with internal and external partners to execute against enterprise-wide sourcing strategies that deliver value and create measurable, meaningful impact on the company’s success. To be successful in this role you must think strategically, demonstrate exceptional contracting, negotiation, and communication skills, and have a high level of customer focus and business judgement. The ideal candidate for this role has a history of delivering results, has strong analytical skills, is proactive, and can influence stakeholders, earning the role as trusted advisor.

Day In the Life:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of category strategies to achieve functional and organizational objectives.
  • Focus on sales, product, and technology departments.
  • Build a strong understanding of strategic business direction, requirements, and priorities for suppliers and spend categories across lines of business. Earn trust as a business advisor to internal stakeholders.
  • Lead the negotiation of enterprise agreements in collaboration with business stakeholders, external suppliers, and internal teams including Legal, Risk Management, Information Security, and IT.
  • Responsible for analyzing and leading procurement requests, crafting sourcing and negotiation strategies, and creating cost estimates and forecasts, while simultaneously negotiating equitable and cost-effective vendor contracts.
  • Responsible for improving data, reporting, processes, and communication, both within the team and with other departments, to solve operational problems and create efficiencies.
  • Perform deep dive analysis on contract and spend information to identify potential savings opportunities.
  • Prepare Executive Summaries of agreements which include business context, key terms, benefits, cost analysis, risks, and mitigations
  • Dig deep into contract details, collaborate with internal teams to understand business requirements, analyze contractual terms, formulate strategy, and execute contract negotiations to achieve best possible outcomes while maintaining successful business relationships.
  • Identify potential risks and liabilities in contracts as they relate to policies and business objectives, and proactively develop solutions on contractual terms in collaboration with Legal, Risk, Privacy, Information Security, and business stakeholders.
  • Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with all appropriate parties about any issues encountered in the vendor process.
  • Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with customers, suppliers, key stakeholders, and team members.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement in making decisions and interact effectively and positively with all levels of management, staff, and vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain, information technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience, skills, training, and education.
  • 7+ years’ experience in sourcing, procurement, vendor management, contract management, and/or related field delivering similar job outcomes, with at least 3-4+ years’ experience specific to Procurement or related negotiation experience.
  • Other functional experience, particularly in IT, business strategy, business analysis, the credit union industry or finance is an advantage.
  • Experience writing and generating RFPs, RFIs and RFQs to suppliers.
  • Experience redlining and negotiating multiple agreement types, including Master Agreements, SOW’s, Addenda, Change Orders, Sales Orders, and Technology agreements (SaaS, End User License, Subscription, Cloud Services, Managed Services, Support Agreements, etc.).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with data analytical/reporting tools preferred.

$84,900.00
