Summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate Program Increment (PI) planning sessions and activities.
  • Manage and facilitate the release process for software products across multiple teams.

  • Provide support and guidance to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and development teams.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Oversee the use of Agile and release management tools and provide training as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Agile project management, with at least 2 years in a Release Train Engineer role.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve conflicts.
  • Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification or equivalent Agile certification is preferred.
  • Experience in software development or a technical background is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
Program Increment Planning: Lead and coordinate Program Increment (PI) planning sessions, including pre- and post-PI planning activities. Ensure alignment of teams and stakeholders on objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
Release Coordination: Manage and facilitate the release process for software products, ensuring that all dependencies, risks, and issues are identified and addressed. Coordinate release activities across multiple teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery.
Agile Facilitation: Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as Scrum of Scrums, ART syncs, and Inspect and Adapt workshops. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the ART.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding release schedules, progress, and any issues that may arise. Provide regular updates and status reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
Risk Management: Identify and manage risks and dependencies within the ART. Implement mitigation strategies and ensure that all teams are aware of potential impacts on the release schedule.
Metrics and Reporting: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to release management, such as release cadence, lead time, and defect rates. Use metrics to drive improvements in the release process.
Continuous Improvement: Promote and facilitate continuous improvement activities within the ART. Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement best practices to enhance delivery efficiency and quality.
Team Support: Provide support and guidance to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and development teams within the ART. Help resolve impediments and foster a collaborative and productive working environment.
Compliance and Governance: Ensure that all release activities comply with organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes.
Tool Management: Oversee the use of Agile and release management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) to ensure they are effectively supporting the ART. Provide training and support to team members as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
5+ years of experience in Agile project management, with at least 2 years in a Release Train Engineer or similar role.
Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) and experience with Agile release trains.
