Responsibilities

Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cloud-based databases.
Support mission-critical SQL databases with advanced troubleshooting skills for performance and tuning.
Optimize database systems to ensure they are robust and efficient.
Analyze solutions and implement best practices for database management.
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes for efficiency and cost optimization.
Create, maintain, and document processes for managing production database systems.
Create tools and automation to simplify database operations and improve efficiency.
Keep up to date with the latest technology trends.
Work closely with the DevOps teams on production changes, incident mitigation, support application integration, and deployment.
Provide database expertise to engineering teams.
Perform capacity planning including future storage requirements.
Lead database-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and implementation of new features.

Requirements

Bachelor’s in computer science or related discipline; or equivalent work experience.
7-10 years or more of experience supporting SQL Server in an enterprise environment.
Experience with AWS (Azure a plus), SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, and various database technologies such as SQL Server, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL.
Strong communication, partnership, teamwork, and influencing skills required.
Ability to automate redundant tasks using scripts, jobs, and other technologies.
