Sr. Web Video Player Engineer (LATAM 100% Remote)

Summary

Responsibilities

• Conduct the design, architecture, and implementation of player features on Web and web-based platforms.
• Work on performance, scalability, security, architecture, and engineering best practices.
• Provide technical specifications and documentation.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver software using agile methodologies.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest in emerging technologies/trends on web platforms.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Excellent programming skills in JavaScript, NodeJS.
• Experience building components to support video playback, user interfaces, video metadata, and third-party integrations.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, unit testing, and end-end testing.
• Experience with Git, SVN, Jenkins, Docker, and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent documentation skills, UML diagrams a plus.
• Strong communication skills with an ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.

Project Details:

This specific team will focus on the web video player experience and work closely with Engineering, Product, Project Management, and Backend Services teams to build out various video player features. This platform will stream high volume concurrent live feeds, so team members should have some experience with supporting live events and/or OTT video streaming.
